TheAssociation of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec proudly announces the addition of the municipality of North Hatley to our network of 35 villages known for their effort to preserve the beauty of their natural landscape and their exceptional architectural heritage.
North Hatley becomes the 36th village known for the quality of its touristic appeal as are the following villages: L’Anse Saint-Jean, Cacouna, Calixa-Lavallée, Cap-Santé, Champlain, Deschambault-Grondines ( Deschambault), Frelighsburg, Les Îles-de-laMadeleine ( Havre-Aubert), Hudson, Kamouraska, Lac Brôme ( Knowlton), Les Éboulements ( SaintJoseph-de-la-Rive), L’Islet, Lot-binière, Dudswell ( Marbleton), Métis-surMer, Neuville, Notre- Dame-du-Portage, Percé ( L’Anse-à-Beaufils), SaintSiméon ( Port-au-Persil), Sainte-Pétronille, SainteRose-du-Nord, SaintAntoine-de-Tilly, SaintAntoine-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Irénée, SaintJean-de-l’Île-d’Orléans, Saint-Laurent-de-l’Îled’Orléans, Saint-Marc-surRichelieu, Saint-Michel-deBellechasse, Saint-Pacôme, Saint-Vallier, Stanstead, Tadoussac and Verchères, which are all members of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec.
North Hatley was appraised in compliance with Mr. Yves Laframboise’s evaluation grid and North Hatley brilliantly met all requirements. The village shows a unique geographical morphology, being located in exceptional surroundings on the shore of Lake Massawipi. Moreover, the historical importance of the architectural heritage coupled with the integrity of the village’s canvas is enhanced by municipal and private involvement in an effort to showcase North Hatley as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec.
The inclusion of North Hatley in the network of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec will strengthen the touristic appeal of our Association whose purpose is to guarantee a seal of approval or a distinctive label known nationally and internationally to visitors looking for the authenticity of a secular lifestyle specific to our villages’ history. Our congratulations to the village of North Hatley for having kept the quality of surroundings that identify our member vil-lages.
