The­As­so­ci­a­tion of the Most Beau­ti­ful Vil­lages of Que­bec proudly an­nounces the ad­di­tion of the mu­nic­i­pal­ity of North Hat­ley to our net­work of 35 vil­lages known for their ef­fort to pre­serve the beauty of their nat­u­ral land­scape and their ex­cep­tional ar­chi­tec­tural her­itage.

North Hat­ley be­comes the 36th vil­lage known for the qual­ity of its touris­tic ap­peal as are the fol­low­ing vil­lages: L’Anse Saint-Jean, Ca­couna, Cal­ixa-Lavallée, Cap-Santé, Cham­plain, Descham­bault-Grondines ( Descham­bault), Fre­lighs­burg, Les Îles-de-laMadeleine ( Havre-Au­bert), Hud­son, Kamouraska, Lac Brôme ( Knowl­ton), Les Éboule­ments ( Sain­tJoseph-de-la-Rive), L’Islet, Lot-binière, Dudswell ( Mar­ble­ton), Métis-surMer, Neuville, Notre- Dame-du-Portage, Percé ( L’Anse-à-Beau­fils), Sain­tSiméon ( Port-au-Per­sil), Sainte-Pétron­ille, Sain­teRose-du-Nord, Sain­tAn­toine-de-Tilly, Sain­tAn­toine-sur-Riche­lieu, Saint-De­nis-sur-Riche­lieu, Saint-Irénée, Sain­tJean-de-l’Île-d’Or­léans, Saint-Lau­rent-de-l’Îled’Or­léans, Saint-Marc-surRiche­lieu, Saint-Michel-deBel­lechasse, Saint-Pacôme, Saint-Val­lier, Stanstead, Tadous­sac and Ver­chères, which are all mem­bers of the As­so­ci­a­tion of the Most Beau­ti­ful Vil­lages of Que­bec.

North Hat­ley was ap­praised in com­pli­ance with Mr. Yves Laframboise’s eval­u­a­tion grid and North Hat­ley bril­liantly met all re­quire­ments. The vil­lage shows a unique geo­graph­i­cal mor­phol­ogy, be­ing lo­cated in ex­cep­tional sur­round­ings on the shore of Lake Mas­saw­ipi. More­over, the his­tor­i­cal im­por­tance of the ar­chi­tec­tural her­itage cou­pled with the in­tegrity of the vil­lage’s can­vas is en­hanced by mu­nic­i­pal and pri­vate in­volve­ment in an ef­fort to show­case North Hat­ley as one of the Most Beau­ti­ful Vil­lages of Que­bec.

The in­clu­sion of North Hat­ley in the net­work of the As­so­ci­a­tion of the Most Beau­ti­ful Vil­lages of Que­bec will strengthen the touris­tic ap­peal of our As­so­ci­a­tion whose pur­pose is to guar­an­tee a seal of ap­proval or a dis­tinc­tive la­bel known na­tion­ally and in­ter­na­tion­ally to vis­i­tors look­ing for the au­then­tic­ity of a sec­u­lar life­style spe­cific to our vil­lages’ his­tory. Our congratulations to the vil­lage of North Hat­ley for hav­ing kept the qual­ity of sur­round­ings that iden­tify our mem­ber vil-lages.
