Lo­cal men tar­geted in Coulombe fam­ily af­fair

Two men from the lo­cal re­gion, Ly­ford Flan­ders and Dave Crook, were the tar­gets of a mur­der con­spir­acy that was dis­cov­ered by the Surete du Que­bec ear­lier this week. Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, Ray­mond Coulombe, who has been be­hind bars at the Sher­brooke jail­house since June af­ter be­ing im­pli­cated in a se­ries of ar­sons com­mit­ted against cul­vert busi­nesses that com­peted against his own, or­dered the mur­ders. The two men are sched­uled to tes­tify against Ray­mond Coulombe in court on Oc­to­ber 21st.

Also ac­cused in the plot are Coulombe’s wife, Gail Wheeler, and his son, Ty­lor Coulombe, who were in­ter­cepted by un­der­cover of­fi­cers in a restau­rant in Water­loo with firearms. All three will now face charges of con­spir­acy to com­mit mur­der, pos­ses­sion of re­stricted firearms and pos­ses­sion of firearms with­out the proper per­mits. All three are be­hind bars.
