Bishop’s Univer­sity An­nounces its Top 10 Af­ter 10 for 2011

Bishop’sUni­ver­sity is set to wel­come and cel­e­brate its Top 10 Af­ter 10 honourees for 2011. The pro­gram, launched in 2009, is de­signed to high­light the achieve­ments of Bishop’s alumni who have grad­u­ated within the pre­vi­ous ten to twenty years.

Cho­sen by a dis­tin­guished panel of Bishop’s grad­u­ates, chaired by Chan­cel­lor Scott Grif­fin ’60, the ten mem­bers are rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Bishop’s Univer­sity alumni pop­u­la­tion, reach­ing from coast to coast and in­ter­na­tion­ally. “These ten grad­u­ates per­son­ify the best of Bishop’s Univer­sity. They work in di­verse fields but they share a com­mon drive to ex­cel and to make a dif­fer­ence in the world. They ex­em­plify the ben­e­fits of a lib­eral ed­u­ca­tion,” said Prin­ci­pal Michael Gold­bloom, “The Bishop’s com­mu­nity is proud of these re­mark­able in­di­vid­u­als. They have be­come prom­i­nent cor­po­rate lead­ers, sci­en­tists, en­trepreneurs, so­cial in­flu­encers and role mod­els.”

Bishop’s will wel­come these ten ac­com­plished young grad­u­ates back to cam­pus on Oc­to­ber 13 - 14, 2011 to cel­e­brate their suc­cess with the Bishop’s com­mu­nity and in­volve them in a num­ber of events with stu­dents and fac­ulty with a par­tic­u­lar fo­cus on hav­ing them share their knowl­edge and ad­vice with cur­rent stu­dents.

“The se­lec­tion com­mit­tee re­ceived over 100 nom­i­na­tions. It is not an easy task nar­row­ing a very tal­ented pool of grad­u­ates down to just 10,” said Chan­cel­lor Grif­fin. “It is an hon­our to rec­og­nize the ac­com­plish­ments of these young grad­u­ates.”
