Forthe 12th con­sec­u­tive year, Up­lands Cul­tural and Her­itage Cen­tre is pleased to present Bon­heur d’hiver, our an­nual “pre­lude to win­ter” col­lec­tive ex­hibit. The 2011 edi­tion of this pop­u­lar event will show­case the work of nine East­ern Town­ships’ artists and ar­ti­sans. The pub­lic is cor­dially in­vited to meet the artists dur­ing the vernissage on Sun­day, Novem­ber 6th, be­tween 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Up­lands, 9 Speid St. in the bor­ough of Len­noxville. Bon­heur d’hiver will run un­til De­cem­ber 17, 2011.

Bon­heur d’hiver is a spir­ited ex­hibit sure to tan­ta­lize your senses through the di­ver­sity of medi­ums, the spec­trum of par­tic­i­pat­ing artists, and the com­fort­ing am­biance of its set­ting.

The artists of Bon­heur d’hiver 2011 are: An­nis Karpenko (Can­ton de Hat­ley)- Acrylic / Mixed Me­dia;

Debbie Everett (Len­noxville) - Wooden Sculp­ture; Ca­role Me­lançon (Can­ton de Hat­ley) – Wa­ter­colour; Denyse Fran­coeur (Sher­brooke) - Il­lu­mi­na­tion & Cal­lig­ra­phy; Mau­reen Bean (North Hat­ley )Wa­ter­colour; Jo­ce­lyne Poupart (Sher­brooke) – Ce­ramic; Elin Gustafson ( Georgeville) - Jew­elry; Se­bastien Moreau (Water­loo) - Oil Paint­ing; Pierre Bernard (Val David) – Wood­work.

Bon­heur d’hiver is more than an ex­hibit; it is also an art sale, the per­fect oc­ca­sion to buy some­thing for you or as a gift for a loved one in the pre-christ­mas sea­son. What bet­ter way to soften win­ter’s chill than with a unique piece of art lov­ingly crafted in a lo­cal stu­dio! Open­ing hours The be­gin­ning of the fes­tive win­ter sea­son is an ideal time to visit Up­lands and ex­pe­ri­ence the grandeur of a Ge­or­gian-style man­sion dec­o­rated in its hol­i­day fin­ery. Be sure to stop in for the Vic­to­rian Tea on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 3th, or any other week­end af­ter­noon for our reg­u­lar tea ser­vice. Re­lax with a steam­ing cup of tea in the gallery while en­joy­ing the ar­ray of artis­tic works sur­round­ing you.

Up­lands is open Wed­nes­day through Sun­day from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
