Bonheur d’hiver 2011
Forthe 12th consecutive year, Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre is pleased to present Bonheur d’hiver, our annual “prelude to winter” collective exhibit. The 2011 edition of this popular event will showcase the work of nine Eastern Townships’ artists and artisans. The public is cordially invited to meet the artists during the vernissage on Sunday, November 6th, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Uplands, 9 Speid St. in the borough of Lennoxville. Bonheur d’hiver will run until December 17, 2011.
Bonheur d’hiver is a spirited exhibit sure to tantalize your senses through the diversity of mediums, the spectrum of participating artists, and the comforting ambiance of its setting.

Debbie Everett (Lennoxville) - Wooden Sculpture; Carole Melançon (Canton de Hatley) – Watercolour; Denyse Francoeur (Sherbrooke) - Illumination & Calligraphy; Maureen Bean (North Hatley )Watercolour; Jocelyne Poupart (Sherbrooke) – Ceramic; Elin Gustafson ( Georgeville) - Jewelry; Sebastien Moreau (Waterloo) - Oil Painting; Pierre Bernard (Val David) – Woodwork.
Bonheur d’hiver is more than an exhibit; it is also an art sale, the perfect occasion to buy something for you or as a gift for a loved one in the pre-christmas season. What better way to soften winter’s chill than with a unique piece of art lovingly crafted in a local studio! Opening hours The beginning of the festive winter season is an ideal time to visit Uplands and experience the grandeur of a Georgian-style mansion decorated in its holiday finery. Be sure to stop in for the Victorian Tea on Saturday, December 3th, or any other weekend afternoon for our regular tea service. Relax with a steaming cup of tea in the gallery while enjoying the array of artistic works surrounding you.
