Dates to remember
The Stanstead Legion will begin holding Remembrance Day Services this weekend, beginning on Saturday, November 5th, with a service at 11:00 am at the Dufferin Heights Cenotaph. The annual parade is also on Saturday, beginning at the Legion and ending up at Hackett Park for a 2:00 pm ceremony there. “This year Deputy Pierre Reid and our Member of Parliament, Jean Rousseau, have said they will attend the parade and service,” commented president David Woodard. The service will be followed by a dinner at the Legion at 5:30 pm. Brigadier General (ret’d) Robin Gagnon, the president of the Ayer’s Cliff Legion, is this year’s guest speaker.
Next week’s services in Stanstead will be on November 10th, at the Stanstead College gates, and on November 11th at the Beebe Memorial Gates, Sunnyside Elementary and Jardin-des- Frontieres school, all beginning around 10:30.
