Coaticook MRC announces Pacte rural grants
TheCoaticook MRC has announced which local projects will receive funding from the Pacte Rural program this year. Camp Val-estrie/espaces Jeunesse Inc. will receive $22,000 to help create a medieval park. A medieval fortress will be erected, an artisan area and an elaborate entrance way along Val Estrie road. The Coaticook Gorge is getting $5000 to develop an annual animated program, in collaboration with local organizations such as the Scouts, Cadets, the Tai Chi Club, day camps etc. to respond to their needs. culture de Coaticook will get $10,000 for its ongoing Sorties Specta…culaires, programming aimed at families and students. Course Estrie is getting $5000 for its Faire son Cinema project which uses film-making to develop competencies in people between the ages of 16 and 30 to help them find work or return to school.
Now at the halfway point of the 2007 to 2014 program, the Coaticook MRC has supported a total of 58 projects with an amount of $935,000. The deadline for applications for financial support for the 2012 year is Friday, March 9th, 2012.
