Coat­i­cook MRC an­nounces Pacte ru­ral grants

TheCoat­i­cook MRC has an­nounced which lo­cal projects will re­ceive fund­ing from the Pacte Ru­ral pro­gram this year. Camp Val-es­trie/es­paces Je­unesse Inc. will re­ceive $22,000 to help cre­ate a me­dieval park. A me­dieval fortress will be erected, an ar­ti­san area and an elab­o­rate en­trance way along Val Es­trie road. The Coat­i­cook Gorge is get­ting $5000 to de­velop an an­nual an­i­mated pro­gram, in col­lab­o­ra­tion with lo­cal or­ga­ni­za­tions such as the Scouts, Cadets, the Tai Chi Club, day camps etc. to re­spond to their needs. The Pav­il­lon des arts et de la

cul­ture de Coat­i­cook will get $10,000 for its on­go­ing Sor­ties Specta…cu­laires, pro­gram­ming aimed at fam­i­lies and stu­dents. Course Es­trie is get­ting $5000 for its Faire son Cinema project which uses film-mak­ing to de­velop com­pe­ten­cies in peo­ple be­tween the ages of 16 and 30 to help them find work or re­turn to school.

Now at the half­way point of the 2007 to 2014 pro­gram, the Coat­i­cook MRC has sup­ported a to­tal of 58 projects with an amount of $935,000. The dead­line for ap­pli­ca­tions for fi­nan­cial sup­port for the 2012 year is Fri­day, March 9th, 2012.
