Discover the world of scientific research

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

For the second year in a row, the Conseil du loisir scientifique de l’estrie (CLSE) is giving level 4 and level 5 high school students and college students the chance to discover different fields of scientific research with the activity Osez la recherche. Set up in a ‘speed-dating’ fashion, students get to meet, in small groups, with eight different researchers from different fields for fifteen minutes each.

Being held on December 3rd at the Université de Sherbrooke, the event will also include scientific presentations on topics such as light pollution. During the lunch hour, visitors will also be able to visit information kiosks such as the one for the Pegasus project: an airplane that is propulsed entirely by human power. Participants will finish the day with a secret workshop presented by well-known personality from the chemistry field of cooking!

Students interested in attending must fill out the registration form before November 26th. For more information call Marie-pier Bousquet at 819 565-5062. Students can see what scientific research is all about at Osez la recherche.
