These brothers and sisters were happy to visit with Santa, who’s confirmed his presence this weekend in Stanstead, at last year’s Christmas Market.

If you’re looking for that ‘old-time’ holiday shopping experience from the days of yore, you won’t have to look any further than the downtown Rock Island sector of Stanstead this weekend. The second annual Christmas Market is being held on Saturday and Sunday, November 26th and the 27th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, in two downtown locations this time, the former Sears building and the former convenience store. Both locations are on Dufferin Street just a few hundred feet from the Canadian/american border, nestled among several other boutiques that carry a wide variety of unique items. “We were really crowded last year so we decided to spread out. This time we’ll have room for some tables and chairs so people can stop to have coffee, snacks and chat,” explained Beverly Goodsell, one of the organizers of the Christmas Market.
