Grade 4 & 5 Snow pass program reaching new heights in its 15th year

The Canadian Ski Council has already processed over 7,000 applications for its Grade 4 & 5 Snow pass program. These lucky children from across Canada have the opportunity to ski or ride for free up to three times at each participating ski area in their region this winter.

Since the Grade 4 & 5 Snow pass program began 15 years ago, nearly nearly half a million kids have taken part. Each year the popularity of the program builds - after all, what child (or parent) wouldn’t jump at the chance for some free and exciting winter fun! One of the great things about the program is that it encourages children to stay active during our Canadian winter. It’s also a wonderful way to introduce kids to the sport..

“Skiing and snowboarding are excellent ways to get kids outside and active in winter,” says Colin Chedore, President of the Canadian Ski Council (CSC). “Skiing and snowboarding are healthy and fun outdoor activities, and what’s more, they’re family sports that

everyone can enjoy.” Applications for the Canadian Ski Council’s Grade 4 & 5 Snow pass program are available at the front counters of Sport Mart, Sport Chek, Sports Experts and Intersport stores across the country. The Forzani Group, owner of Sport Mart, Sport Chek, Sports Experts and Intersport, has sponsored the program since the beginning, helping families have fun while getting fresh air and exercise in the win- tertime. Applications were also recently distributed to elementary schools across the country.

Grade 4 & 5 Snow pass applications are also available at www.snowpass.ca, the newly redesigned Snow pass website where parents can apply for their child’s Snow pass online. Once their application is processed by the CSC, children participating in the Grade 4 & 5 Snow pass program will receive a Snow pass card that includes up to three lift passes for free skiing and snowboarding at each and every participating ski area.

The Grade 4& 5 Snow pass program is available to anyone in grade 4 or 5 (or who was born in 2001 and 2002). With over 150 different participating ski/snowboard areas - 92 in the East (Ontario to Newfoundland) and 60 in the West (Manitoba to B.C) - everyone can take advantage of this amazing deal.

The Canadian Ski Council was founded in 1977 to work on the behalf of the Canadian snow sports industry to increase participation in recreational snowboarding, alpine and cross-country skiing in Canada. The Grade 4 &5 Snow pass is funded and presented by the Canadian Ski Council and its member organizations; National Snow Industries Association, Atlantic Ski Area Association, Quebec Ski Areas Association, Ontario Snow
