North Hat­ley added to list

The Vil­lage of North Hat­ley has been added to the list of Que­bec mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties that will get money from the Pro­gramme d’aide fi­nanciere speci­fique re­lated to the abun­dant rain­fall and vi­o­lent winds that oc­curred last Au­gust 28th and 29th, caus­ing ex­ces­sive dam­age. This govern­ment pro­gram is a ‘last re­sort’ kind of help for dam­ages caused to main res­i­dences and mu­nic­i­pal in­fra­struc­tures that aren’t cov­ered by in­sur­ance. More in­for­ma­tion about the pro­gram as well as claim forms can be found at www. se­cu­ritepublique.gouv.qc.ca.

Other nearby mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties that were pre­vi­ously ac­cepted for the pro­gramme re­lated to the events of last Au­gust are: Austin, Ayer’s Cliff, Bury, Coat­i­cook, Comp­ton, Cook­shire-ea­ton, Dixville, East­man, Can­ton Hat­ley, Hat­ley, Ma­gog, Mel­bourne, Pot­ton, Ste-cather­ine-de-hat­ley, Sher­brooke, Stanstead and Water­ville.
