CRE an­nounces grants

At­last week’s meet­ing of the Con­fer­ence re­gionale des elus de l’es­trie (CRE) which was held at the Delta Sher­brooke, of­fi­cers an­nounced which projects would get fi­nan­cial sup­port from the or­ga­ni­za­tion. Fif­teen projects along with a spe­cial agree­ment were cho­sen to share the en­ve­lope of $547,510.

Only two lo­cal projects are get­ting fund­ing from this or­ga­ni­za­tion. A project to sta­bi­lize the shores of the East Creek in the Mem­phrem­a­gog MRC in or­der to re­duce the amount of sed­i­ment and nu­tri­ents reach­ing Lake Lover­ing and pro­mote the con­ser­va­tion and re-es­tab­lish­ment of aquatic an­i­mal habi­tats will get $26,000. The other lo­cal project, which is get­ting $24,000, aims to stop un­nat­u­ral water­ways by stop­ping the ero­sion on Khar­toum, Feuil­lade and Ja­cyn­the roads which is af­fect­ing the Parker Lake wa­ter­shed.

Other projects re­ceiv­ing fi­nanc­ing are: Univer­site ru­rale que­be­coise 2013, $50,000; spe­cial project to sup­port ex­por­ta­tion, $30,000; Cul­ture de Coeur – An­tenne Es­trie, $70,500; Le plaisir d’en­trepren­dre au fem­i­nine re­gional sem­i­nar, $5,000; Co­or­di­na­tion and de­vel­op­ment of en­vi­ron­men­tal bio-in­dus­tries, $24,000; a plan to sen­si­tize em­ploy­ers to the com­pe­ten­cies of im­mi­grants and the im­por­tance of hir­ing them, $20,000; Es­trie man­power re­port, $10,000; Ser­vice pre­re­tour im­mi­grants, $15,000.
