Twenty-

two yearold Bishop University student Pnina-soleil Marcoux’s design for the logo of the Coaticook 150th anniversary was unveiled yesterday in a ceremony that marks the launch of the celebration which will end in 2014 when the ‘Pearl of the Townships’ will mark its founding. While everybody agrees that it was formed by carving up Barnston, will the mystery of its name origin ever be resolved? Is it from the Iroquois word

Krvaktakwak or the Abenakis words koa and tegw.

For her effort, Ms. Marcoux won a $1,250 gift certificate from Rue Principale, the name of the new downtown commercial district that is in the final stage of its revitalization effort.
