Adding sparkle to the holidays

Stanstead Journal - - FRONT PAGE - Victoria Vanier

Stanstead residents have been trying to outdo each other as they vied for the top honours in the town’s “Feerie de Noel” contest. The winners have just been announced and they are: Nathalie Belleville, 3 Terrill, Stanstead sector; Gaston Fauteux, 46 Boul. Notre Dame, Rock Island sector; and Suzanne Duquette, 3 Dominion Granite street, Beebe sector. They will each receive a cheque of $60 from the town’s Recreation department. “Special Mention” winners of the two Stanstead Journal prizes of tickets to the Maison du Cinema are Merna Dutil at 14 Terrill and John Langevin at 503 Dufferin. Even without a contest to motivate them, many Townshippers just love expressing their holiday spirit by decorating their homes, inside and out, such as the Mc Combs of Stanstead East, the subjects of this week’s ‘Portrait’ article.

The Mc Comb home on the 143 in Stanstead East is a feast for the eyes at this time of year.

The Beebe home of Suzanne Duquette on Dominion Granite Street was decorated with originality.

Nathalie Belleville added a chimney decoration to her home on Terrill Street in Stanstead, not wanting Santa to pass her by!

Gaston Fauteux tastefully used white lights in his creation on Notre Dame in the Rock Island sector.
