The Caisse Desjardins

de Stanstead was founded seventy-five years ago on February 1st, 1937. On Monday, it officially launched the year-long celebration with a visit from one of the founding members of the first Caisse in Rock Island, 96 year-old Denis Daviau, and the founders of the Caisse Desjardins itself in 1900: Alphonse and Dorimene Desjardins!

“Dorimene played a key role in the founding of the Desjardins Group,” commented the Caisse’s community representative

Marie-eve Riendeau who played the part of Dorimene. Caisse employee Patrick Dion played the part of Alphonse.

Refreshments will be served to customers of the financial institution throughout the week and surprise gifts will be given out randomly to members who visit their branch.
