The Forum jeunesse Estrie (FJE) wants to help young people, from the ages of 12 to 21, to realize projects within the community of the Memphremagog MRC. The Passe a GO program, which gets funds from the Fonds d’initiatives en participation citoyenne (FIPC), will fund the chosen projects, social projects with benefits in the community, in the amounts of $500 or $1000. A total of $3000 is available for this year’s projects.

The aim of the program is to encourage young people who live in the Memphremagog MRC to be active in the community. Previous projects included artistic, sport and afterschool activities. Young people must work under an existing community organization and their project must aim to improve the community notably in the areas of healthy living, entrepreneurship, citizen participation and school perseverance.

Young people with project ideas have until March 1st, 2012, noon, to apply for funding. For more information check the Forum jeunesse Estrie website or call Djamila Ousmane at 819 563-1911, ext. 232.
