Daniel Dubois, 27, was declared dead at the hospital Saturday after an early morning stunt, on

Saturday morning, sliding down the stairs of the old Stanstead Arena on a ‘three-ski’ and hitting the ground at the cement landing. The impact must have been fierce as huge blood stains were still visible late Monday afternoon. He was allegedly drunk and in the company of three female companions aged in their twenties, according to the police.

Coroner Jacques Robinson will lead the inquest but the police consider the matter an accident.

The father of two was a frequent visitor to the site, according to sources. As for sliding down the stairs, it seems that it is a popular, but highly unsafe, activity.

While the town operates a slide on the Notre-dame Street land that it owns, it seems that the arena is still highly frequented.
