He never forgot
branches of the Royal Air Force Escaping Society as well as from the American Escape and Evasion Society. Veterans military groups also presented plaques to Mr. Brus, referring to him as a “forgotten hero of the Second World War”.
A contributing member of the Ayer’s Cliff community, Mr. Brus was also active with the Quebec Farmer’s Association, the Ayer’s Cliff Fair, St. Barthelemy Church and the Stanstead Plowmen’s Association.
John Brus was given this Commemorative plaque by his family in 2006. Seen with Rita and John in the photo are five of their six children (l. to r.): Lucy, since deceased, René, Hans, Diane and Gary.
