The Imperial Motel will soon be nothing more than a memory. According to Roger Gougeon, a spokersperson for Petro – T, the motel will be demol- ished as soon as the frost is out of the ground and a company has been chosen. “I expect it will be demolished within the next month,” he said, adding: “It is being taken down with the plans to build a new restaurant – either a Mcdonald’s or a Tim Horton’s. We’re waiting for approval for the new restaurant which won’t be built before 2013.”

The Petro-t gas station will get a new look at the same time as the building of the new restaurant. “We are renewing all our equipment. The gas canopy will be bigger and we will relocate it to the right side of our building. I believe all the work will be done in 2013 at the same time,” Mr. Gougeon explained.

The empty Imperial Motel will fall to the wrecking ball within the month.
