MP Jean Rousseau (Compton Stanstead) will serve as Official Opposition critic for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair announced yesterday.

Rousseau said he was enthusiastic about this new responsibility. “In these uncertain and difficult economic times, The Economic Development Agency is a very important file,” said the MP. “I will work tirelessly to ensure that my constituents are properly served by this organization, whose role is vital.”

“I am proud of the quality of our team,” said Mulcair. “And I’m especially proud of the unity and sense of duty New Democrat MPS showed during this process.”
