Eastern Townships Canadian Club
On Thursday, at noon on May 3, the Eastern Townships Canadian Club will feature Dr. Cheryl Gosselin, Dept. of Sociology, Bishop’s University. Her topic is Integration of Newcomers to the Sherbrooke Region; How Can the Anglophone Community Help?
Dr. Cheryl Gosselin has been a member of the Sociology Department for the past 20 years. Her teaching areas are in gender and women’s studies, urban sociology, tourism, race and ethnicity and transnational identities. Her research interests include Quebec women, particularly the socio-economic positions of Englishspeaking women, the Anglophone linguistic minority communities of Quebec and the integration experiences of newcomers to the province. She serves on the board of directors for Townshippers’ Association as well as the Quebec Community Groups Network and is currently President of the Eastern Townships Resource Centre.
