Free eye glasses

Morethan 80% of chil­dren’s learn­ing is vis­ual. 25% of chil­dren un­der six years of age have vi­sion prob­lems but only 15% of chil­dren of that age group get an an­nual eye exam. Par­ents who can’t af­ford to buy glasses for their chil­dren aged twelve and un­der can now ap­proach the Ma­gog Lions Club for com­plete fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance. For in­for­ma­tion about this gen­er­ous pro­gram, call ei­ther Robert Chagnon at 819 843-5176 or Ger­ald Ruest at 819 8474945. Eye ex­am­i­na­tions for peo­ple 18 and un­der and 65 and older are al­ways free. For adults, there is a free Clin­ique Mo­bile for eye ex­ams, this Oc­to­ber 13th, 2012, or­ga­nized by the lo­cal Lions Club. Its lo­ca­tion will be an­nounced at a later date. Mem­bers of the Coat­i­cook Lions Club were happy to re­ceive a tester for used glasses from the Ma­gog Lions Club ear­lier this month.
