Hatley Township promoter Bertrand Letendre has received a grant of $15,000 from the provincial government to produce a wine vinegar made from organic blueberries. Orford MNA Pierre Reid announced the grant last Thursday in the name of the Minister of Municipal Affairs, Laurent Lessard.

The grant comes from a measure to stimulate the development of specialty products. Thanks to this support, Mr. Letendre’s enterprise will produce a new product, diversify his present production and put a product on the market that reflects the tastes of today’s consumers. The total cost of the project is evaluated at $40,200.

“With this measure, promoters in our region have the extra financial resources to invest in the development of specialty products in a way that will diversify our regional economy while developing our rural environment,” said Mr. Reid.
