Canada Day Pa­rade Theme Cho­sen

The Hat­ley Mu­nic­i­pal As­so­ci­a­tion, the com­mit­tee re­spon­si­ble for or­ga­niz­ing the an­nual Canada Day Cel­e­bra­tion in Hat­ley, has cho­sen this year’s theme for the pop­u­lar pa­rade: Canada, Then and Now! Float mak­ers can now put on their think­ing caps and start fig­ur­ing out how to cre­atively dis­play this theme- af­ter all, there are plenty of prizes for the floats and other pa­rade en­tries judged the best and most orig­i­nal by the Canada Day judges.

This year’s event, to be held on Sun­day, July 1st, will be the 104th an­nual Canada Day cel­e­bra­tion in Hat­ley. Although not all of the ac­tiv­i­ties are fi­nal­ized yet for the day, one ac­tiv­ity that is re­turn­ing is the soap­box derby. The soap­box derby is for young driv­ers aged at least 7 years old as of the day of the race. The cel­e­bra­tion will also in­clude the tra­di­tional chil­dren’s games, horse-drawn wagon rides, live mu­sic and fire­works.
