Choromondo to Sing Two Benefit Concerts
Choromondohas been bringing women together from the Eastern Townships of Quebec and Vermont to sing eclectic world music for 13 years and is directed by Quebec artist and composer Allyna Harris. The group of 25 women sings traditional vocal music from around the globe, often including traditional dances. Their colorful costumes and passionate love of music make these performances a pleasure for all.
This year's concerts include amazing songs from South Africa, Croatia, Bulgaria, Argentina, Palestine, Egypt, Israel, India, Macedonia and more!
Choromondo’s 13th annual benefit concerts will support the Stand Tall Education Network in Uganda and the Haskell Free Library. The first will take place on Friday, June 8th, 7:00 pm, at Sainte-Elisabeth Church, 3115 Capleton Rd., North Hatley. The second benefit concert will take place on Saturday, June 9th, 7:00 pm, at the Haskell Opera House which is situated right on the border, in both Stanstead and Derby Line, Vermont.
