Galt Student Council gives big!
This year, the student council at Alexander Galt High School worked extremely hard to organize activities to please all the students in the school. The Student Council also supported different cause: at Christmas the student council ran the Can-O-Thon, a friendly Boys vs. Girls competition to raise nonperishable items for our annual Christmas Basket Campaign, but that’s not all... throughout the year, the Council also raised money for the EMMA ROSE FOUNDATION, a foundation that supports parents with children with Mucopolysaccharide (MPS) disease. This year, the Student Council organized several fundraisers: Pie Throwing, Helping at a Teacher’s Symposium, Helper for a Day auction, a Carnival Penny Race, the EMMA ROSE Dance and finally, last but not least, the EMMA ROSE SUPPER at Sebby’s. With all these fundraisers, along with donations, the student council raised a lot more than expected: $4,000! As promised, Student Council president, Clément Moliner-Roy shaved his head at the EMMA ROSE DANCE because they had raised over $1,000, the objective of the council. Thanks go out to everyone who attended the supper, the students and staff who helped plan it, and Sebby’s for making it possible.
Members of the Galt Student Council and Sebby staff members put on a successful fundraiser, last weekend, for the Emma Rose Foundation.
