Relay for life events begin
Coaticook held its annual Relay for Life event over the weekend, raising more than $103,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. The wet weather didn’t stop a good crowd from both partic- ipating and watching the moving event that has teams of walkers walking around the track until the wee hours of the morning, illuminated only by the luminary bags, all bought in memory of someone lost to cancer, that line the track. Twenty-eight teams of 280 walkers, along with 105 cancer survivors, walked all night long.
The Memphremagog Relay for Life event will take place on June 15th at Merry Point in Magog. There is still time to buy luminaries from one of the many teams of walkers in the area.
