New Head Coach for Cougars Hockey

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS -

Next season, the Champlain College Cougars hockey team will have a new head coach. Dominic Desmarais will take over the position from coach of several years, Judes Vallee. A native of St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Mr. Desmarais has directed the Harfangs hockey team of Le Triolet high school, and he has coached two teams in the major junior hockey league in Quebec as the assistant coach: the

Voltigeurs of Drummondville last season and the Titan d’Acadie-Bathurst in 2006. The new coach’s main objective is to maintain the identity and culture of the successful hockey team, to continue to aim for excellence, and he hopes that each of the athletes can attain their academic and athletic objectives. He also wants to preserve the tradition of pride to be a Cougar: “I am more than proud to be able to be a part of the Cougar family and to have the opportunity to contribute wholly to a serious program like that of the Champlain College Cougars.” The entire Cougar organization wishes great success to their new head trainer and a good season for all!
