Last Friday, Orford MNA Pierre Reid and Ayer’s Cliff mayor Alex Van Zuiden inaugurated the newly renovated Tyler Park under sunny skies and surrounded by lots of smiling children, eager to try out the new equipment which includes some cooling water installations.

“The redevelopment of Tyler Park allowed for the modernisation of existing installations and the addition of new ones that will without doubt please citizens of all ages as well as residents from neighbouring municipalities. I am certain that these installations will encourage sport and recreation activities and that Tyler Park will become a meeting place appreciated by everyone,” said Mr. Reid.

The project consisted of bringing the skating rink, which now doubles as a tennis court in the summer, up to standards, replacing the aging playground equipment, adding water installations, a welcome building and an amphitheatre.

The Ministry of education, sport and recreation provided a grant of $340,000 to the municipality for this project.
