Bread and Pup­pet Opens Sum­mer 2012 Sea­son July 6th!

Breadand Pup­pet Theater opens their 2012 sum­mer sea­son with The Pos­si­bil­tar­i­ans Fri­day July 6th at 7:30, in the Pa­per Mache Cathe­dral. In The Pos­si­bil­i­tar­i­ans, oc­cu­piers, up­ris­ers and pos­si­bil­i­tar­i­ans learn from the 17th cen­tury Dig­gers and start dig­ging, propos­ing and coun­ter­ing the crum­bling eco­nomic sys­tem and its in­her­ited mis­re­la­tion to Mother Earth and re-ed­u­cate the dis­used Hands and Feet of the Ma­chine Age. A play with live mu­sic and gi­ant pup­pets in­ter­spersed with dances from the Lub­ber­land Na­tional Dance Reper­tory. Per­for­mances will con­tinue each Fri­day through Au­gust 24th, with a dif­fer­ent per­for­mance, The Shat­terer of Worlds Over Pup­pet Show begin­ning in a few weeks. Sun­days in July and Au­gust begin­ning July 15th at 2:30, Bread and Pup­pet presents The Com­plete Ev­ery­thing Every­where Dance Cir­cus, a satir­i­cal horse and but­ter­fly cir­cus, ad­dress­ing per­ti­nent lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional is­sues in a clown­ish fash­ion and then al­ter­nat­ing those sketches with Don Quixotes anti-wind­mill mon­ster dances. Fol­low­ing the Cir­cus, The Pos­si­bil­i­tar­i­ans in The Pageant of the Pos­si­bil­i­ta­tians will be equipped with gi­ant pa­per mache gods, to fight the demise of the not so civ­i­lized world with card­board weapons and ad­vice from the dig­gers, Eng­land›s 17th Cen­tury rad­i­cal po­tato farm­ers. There will be a Mu­seum Tour at 1 PM, fresh bread and aioli and cheap art for sale. Ev­ery­thing hap­pens at the Bread and Pup­pet Farm, Rt 122, Glover VT. Ad­mis­sion is free.
