Bread and Puppet Opens Summer 2012 Season July 6th!
Breadand Puppet Theater opens their 2012 summer season with The Possibiltarians Friday July 6th at 7:30, in the Paper Mache Cathedral. In The Possibilitarians, occupiers, uprisers and possibilitarians learn from the 17th century Diggers and start digging, proposing and countering the crumbling economic system and its inherited misrelation to Mother Earth and re-educate the disused Hands and Feet of the Machine Age. A play with live music and giant puppets interspersed with dances from the Lubberland National Dance Repertory. Performances will continue each Friday through August 24th, with a different performance, The Shatterer of Worlds Over Puppet Show beginning in a few weeks. Sundays in July and August beginning July 15th at 2:30, Bread and Puppet presents The Complete Everything Everywhere Dance Circus, a satirical horse and butterfly circus, addressing pertinent local and international issues in a clownish fashion and then alternating those sketches with Don Quixotes anti-windmill monster dances. Following the Circus, The Possibilitarians in The Pageant of the Possibilitatians will be equipped with giant paper mache gods, to fight the demise of the not so civilized world with cardboard weapons and advice from the diggers, England›s 17th Century radical potato farmers. There will be a Museum Tour at 1 PM, fresh bread and aioli and cheap art for sale. Everything happens at the Bread and Puppet Farm, Rt 122, Glover VT. Admission is free. Donations are appreciated.
