Austin W.I. Meeting
TheAustin W.I. met on Wednesday July 11th at the home of Patti Carriere in Magog. President Debi Bonn opened at 1 p.m. with all reciting the M.S. Collect & salute to the Canadian Flag plus many thanks to Patti for hosting the meeting. Motto: Diplomacy at one time consisted of giving a hand without giving a handout! Roll call: Who would you like to see as our Prime Minister? It was answered by 10 members. Minutes from the June meeting were read by Liz Goodwin and approved. Treasurer Betty Telford reported that the fundraiser in Austin had proved to be very successful. ON behalf of the W.I., we want to thank the town of Austin and all who were involved in any way. Everyone’s co-operation was very much appreciated. There were no birthday girls this month but August 24th will be the 100th birthday of Evelyn Jackson. She has once again changed her place of residence as follows: Evelyn Buzzell Jackson c/o The Connaught Home, 77 Main St. 2nd Floor, North Hatley, QC J0B 2C0 Telephone in her room: 819-842-2483. Plans for her celebration were discuss at our August meeting, which took place at the home of Debi Bonn on chemin Viens on Wednesday August 8th at 1 p.m. R.C. was Name restaurants or industries opened or closed during this past year. Following this meeting and the saying of the W.I. Grace, we were treated to a delicious tea of sandwiches, veggies with dip, squares and fruit which was much enjoyed.
