St. Lau­rent Puts On Its Sun­day Best Op­tion: Trad

On Sun­day, Au­gust 19 at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the Louis S. St. Lau­rent Na­tional His­toric Site wel­comes the tra­di­tional mu­sic trio Op­tion: Trad whose call-and-- re­sponse songs, jigs, and ac­cor­dion tunes are guar­an­teed to get you groov­ing. This event is pre­sented in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Louis S. St. Lau­rent Na­tional His­toric Site’s Companions.

Re­united spe­cially for this oc­ca­sion, Op­tion: Trad is com­posed of Jean-François Bran­chaud on vi­o­lin and vo­cals, Langlais Martin on ac­cor­dion and gigue and Danny Bail­largeon on gui­tar and bouzouki. To­gether, they will per­form tra­di­tional Que­be­cois songs and orig­i­nal pieces. The three mu­si­cians, regulars at the tra­di­tional mu­sic fes­ti­val Mé­moires et Racines held an­nu­ally in Lanaudière, are part of sev­eral bands, in­clud­ing Les Langues Fourchues and Baqqhus. This show is sure to be a vivid trip down mem­ory lane!
