Antique Machines Weekend
For a 20th consecutive year, the Eastern Townships Antique Machinery Club will hold its annual exposition at the Recreo-Parc, in Compton, this Saturday and Sunday. This year the emphasis will be placed on domestic and industrial objects and instruments used in the country and the city and made in Quebec at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th. During a period when being self- sufficient was the way to economise, many Quebec businesses furnished manufactured goods for the farm and the city. About fifty exhibitors are expected.
There will be an auction on Saturday at 4:00 pm, followed by a community supper at 6:00 pm. A cantine and flea market will also be on site. Small entrance fee for people 12 and older.
