St. Francois candidate profiles
Eric Giroux, a businessman and entrepreneur who lives in Sherbrooke, is the St. Francois candidate for the Coalition Avenir Quebec. “I wouldn’t be here if not for Mr. Legault who founded Air Transat. We have a habit of elect-
ing lawyers but I think it’s a good idea to elect an entrepreneur for a change,” said Mr. Giroux who joined the CAQ nine months ago. Educated at both Bishop’s University and Harvard University, Mr. Giroux has his roots in the Townships: both his parents and grandparents are from Coaticook.
He decided to run for the CAQ for a few reasons. “Mr. Legault has a strong business background and political experience; the others have had their chance. I also have small kids and we’re tired of going to the hospital and having a fifteen hour wait. Quebec is the highest taxed nation in North America so we should be able to run things in a more efficient manner,” commented Mr. Giroux.
