Eric Giroux, a busi­ness­man and en­tre­pre­neur who lives in Sher­brooke, is the St. Fran­cois can­di­date for the Coali­tion Avenir Quebec. “I wouldn’t be here if not for Mr. Le­gault who founded Air Transat. We have a habit of elect-

ing lawyers but I think it’s a good idea to elect an en­tre­pre­neur for a change,” said Mr. Giroux who joined the CAQ nine months ago. Ed­u­cated at both Bishop’s Univer­sity and Har­vard Univer­sity, Mr. Giroux has his roots in the Town­ships: both his par­ents and grand­par­ents are from Coat­i­cook.

He de­cided to run for the CAQ for a few rea­sons. “Mr. Le­gault has a strong busi­ness back­ground and po­lit­i­cal ex­pe­ri­ence; the oth­ers have had their chance. I also have small kids and we’re tired of go­ing to the hospi­tal and hav­ing a fif­teen hour wait. Quebec is the high­est taxed na­tion in North Amer­ica so we should be able to run things in a more ef­fi­cient man­ner,” com­mented Mr. Giroux.
