Victoria Vanier, Stanstead

Doyou have any exciting or unusual stories to tell about prohibition or smuggling that took place in the region of Stanstead and Derby Line between 1919 and 1933? We are presently looking for interesting facts, stories and objects from this period in order to create a tourist project that will focus on a time period when some people made profits through their ingenuity, regardless of the efforts of border guards and the conscientious.

We promise to keep it all confidential to protect the identity of your parents and friends!

For more information about this new project please contact Stanstead’s development officer, Joanne Lajeunesse McKay, at 819 876-5215 or by email at jlmckay@cldmemphremagog.com.
