Generous gift will keep ‘premees’ warm
Stanstead’s prize-winning knitter Linda Durocher, I can call her that since she just brought home ten prize ribbons for her knitting from the Ayer’s Cliff Fair on the weekend, gave a surprise donation to the CHUS’ neo-natal ward last month: 58 knit sets of tuques, mittens and booties for premature babies. “I knitted them off and on during the spring and summer. I have to have something to do with my hands!” said the avid knitter.
One of her prize ribbons from the Fair was a first place for a sweater set, her specialty. “I’ll be giving that sweater set to my new grand-daughter,” said the happy grand-mother.
