1927-2012 – It is with great sad­ness that the fam­ily of Al­ton Dustin an­nounces his sud­den pass­ing on Fri­day, Au­gust 24, 2012 at the U of A Hospi­tal. Al­ton was pre­de­ceased by his wife Diana in 1999. He will be lov­ingly re­mem­bered and sadly missed by their five chil­dren: Go­ef­frey, Jane, Brent, Bruce and Penny. He is also sur­vived by his grand­chil­dren Jill, Haylie, Linnzi, Karly, Tyler, Alodie, Jared and James, great-grand­chil­dren Tyren, Reah, Kas­sidy, Nash, Noha, Liam and Sam. He leaves be­hind two broth­ers Melvin (Quebec), Alvin (On­tario) and two sis­ters Vera (Quebec) and Joyce (On­tario). Al­ton will also be missed by his many friends and the fam­ily he be­came a part of at the North Ridge Lodge in St. Al­bert where he lived for the last six years. Al­ton was born and raised in Stanstead, Quebec and was mar­ried to Diana in 1953. He spent the early part of his life work­ing at the Do­min­ion Textile and for BP Canada in Ma­gog. The fam­ily moved to Al­berta in 1978 and Al­ton be­gan work at the Univer­sity of Al­berta em­ployed as a main­te­nance handy-man, work­ing there un­til his re­tire­ment in 1992. Af­ter his re­tire­ment, Al­ton en­joyed go­ing for cof­fee with his friends, at­tend­ing func­tions at the Le­gion, telling jokes and spend­ing time with his fam­ily. A Cel­e­bra­tion of life will be on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 29th, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Cal­vary Community Church, 8704 Mill Woods Road.
