Caisse Memphremagog Money for school success
The Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Memphremagog has donated $67,500 to the Fonds pour la perseverance scolaire Desjardins. During the last general meeting, the members of this Caisse voted in favour of a collective refund of $450,000 being added to the Fonds d’aide au developpement du milieu. The directors of the Caisse then decided to reserve $67,500 for school perseverance.
This contribution shows how the Caisse would like to play an important role in the fight to keep children in school until they graduate and in the promotion of academic success. Because of these funds for school perseverance, the Caisse has contributed to more than a dozen projects for youth in the Memphremagog MRC.
“We are aware of the problems related to school dropouts, but we are not the specialists. So we have developed
the Caisse’s a partnership with the Table jeunesse socio-economique the coordinator Memphremagog to analyze and treat the requests of financing. Furthermore, we are sure that the projects supported respond to the needs of the community and we avoid the doubling of services,” commented Emilie Cottineau, the Caisse’s spokesperson.
