Calling All Artists; Townshippers’ Schmoozer Returns!
Artistwho paint, sculpt, write or sing, and everything in between, won’t want to miss the chance to grow their cultural network at a free ELAN Schmoozer, from 5 to 7 p.m. on October 13, 2012, at Cafe Bar Sans Frontieres (formerly known as Checkpoint Charlie’s), on 240 Rue Dufferin in Stanstead.
Open to all Townships artists, these networking schmoozers are hosted regularly by the English Language Arts Network (ELAN) giving both ELAN member and non-member artists a chance to make new connections and catch up with old friends! In a relaxed environment, artists will shuffle tables in order to meet everyone without the pressure of thinking up a bunch of suave conversation-starters.
Artists are invited to extend their evening enjoyment with a concert by singer-songwriter Matthew McCully at the Haskell Free Library in Stanstead at 7 p.m. For his last concert on the Heritage Tour, Matthew McCully has invited U.S. singer Emily Nyman to join him. Entry on donation. The Heritage Tour is supported by Arts & Community Culture On-the-Road (ACCORD ) a project made possible through the support of ELAN and the Department of Canadian Heritage.
For more information on the upcoming schmoozer, please contact Kate Wisdom, at Townshippers’ Association, at 450-242-4421 (toll free 877-242-4421) or email firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information on Townships artist Matthew McCully visit www.matthewmccully.ca.
It’s at free schmoozers such as this one, which took place in North Hatley in 2010, that artists of all kinds can expand their networks over a meet and greet. The schmoozers have returned with the next one taking place on October 13th at Cafe Bar Sans Frontieres in Stanstead followed by a concert, entrance on donation, at the nearby Haskell Opera House.
