Gaiters Lose Third Place and Mayor’s Cup Last Saturday

The fourth quarter was all Vert et Or as they outscored Bishop’s 11-3 and won the Mayor’s Cup for the sixth time. Sherbrooke kicked a field goal 2:02 into the frame and added a rouge just over three minutes later. Haddrall booted a 13 yard field goal with just over six minutes remaining to give the purple and white hope as they trailed 33-28. The nail in the coffin came when Sherbrooke scored their fourth major of the day at the 11:33 mark of the quarter. The Vert et Or were on top 40-28 as the final whistle blew.
Bishop’s travels to the provincial capital on Sunday, October 21st to face No.3 Laval Rouge et Or (7-1). Laval is coming off a 23-20 loss at the hands of the Montreal Carabins (7-1) on Saturday. The Gaiters are still in control of their own destiny with two victories in their final two games they will clinch a playoff spot as they are one game up on the McGill Redmen.
