Gaiters Lose Third Place and Mayor’s Cup Last Satur­day

Sher­brooke kicked a field goal 2:02 into the frame and added a rouge just over three min­utes later. Had­drall booted a 13 yard field goal with just over six min­utes re­main­ing to give the pur­ple and white hope as they trailed 33-28. The nail in the cof­fin came when Sher­brooke scored their fourth ma­jor of the day at the 11:33 mark of the quar­ter. The Vert et Or were on top 40-28 as the fi­nal whis­tle blew.

Bishop’s trav­els to the pro­vin­cial cap­i­tal on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 21st to face No.3 Laval Rouge et Or (7-1). Laval is com­ing off a 23-20 loss at the hands of the Montreal Cara­bins (7-1) on Satur­day. The Gaiters are still in con­trol of their own destiny with two vic­to­ries in their fi­nal two games they will clinch a play­off spot as they are one game up on the McGill Red­men.
