A large quantity of illegal drugs were seized following investigations done by this force: more than 10,700 grams of marijuana; around 560 grams of hashish; 75 grams of hashish oil; 1700 LSD blotters; close to 700 grams of cocaine; 160 grams of crack cocaine; 325 grams of magic mushrooms; 60 grams of methamphetamine; 120 ecstacy pills; close to 4,000 mililitres of GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid); 3,500 units of GHB; and 14,500 methamphetamine pills. (DECO centre) of the During its first year of operations, ERM Estrie investigators dealt with 107 operational files, made 114 arrests of suspects and took part in four major police operations.
The creation of this special force in the fall of 2011 has allowed investigators to combine their efforts in the fight against synthetic drugs, leading to the arrest of producers and the dismantling of distribution networks in the Estrie region. It is another good example of the power of partnerships between police forces.
