Art Auction to keep animals warm
TheFrontier Animal Society (FAS), located in Ogden, is holding its annual fundraising auction this Sunday, November 18th, in the Reading Room of the Haskell Free Library, in Stanstead. The doors will open at 12:30 so people can take a look at all the items up for sale and pick up their bidding card. The bidding will begin at 1:00 pm.
A great place to do some Christmas shopping, the auction will feature artworks donated by several local artists, beautiful handmade crafts and nice books. It will all be auctioned off by Phil Desormeaux who does this every year for the animal shelter.
“This auction is always extremely important for us. It helps pay the extra bills for the shelter during the winter,” explained organizer Mary Rolland. This event will include a refreshment table, wine and cheese.
The FAS, a permanent home to about forty dogs and cats, also accepts donations of dry dog food, wet cat food, dog treats, old towels and blankets. It holds a monthly, inexpensive spay and neuter clinic for cats and also has a few cats and dogs who are hoping to be adopted.
