Tough Weekend for Gaiter Teams
Itwas a tough weekend for Gaiter teams as the men’s rugby year came to an end with a semi-final loss to McGill; the women’s hockey team went 0-4 in a tournament they hosted and the men’s and women’s basketball teams travelled to Montreal to open their season only to have the games postponed.
The men’s rugby squad was overpowered by the McGill Redmen in an RSEQ semi-final held at Bishop’s on Sunday, November 11. McGill scored early and often en route to a 76-15 victory. They move onto play the Concordia Stingers in the final next Sunday. The loss brings the Gaiters season to a close. They posted a 5-3 regular season record, finishing in second place in the league.
arena the women’s hockey tournament where they played four games. They fell 4-0 to Cape Breton on Saturday afternoon and 2-0 to Acadia at night. On Sunday they opened up with a 2-0 loss to the University of New Brunswick and then lost 7-0 to a Cornwall Midget AA team later in the day.
The men’s and women’s basketball squads travelled to Montreal on Saturday night to open their season against the UQAM Citadins however the games had to be postponed due to a scheduling error.
