Coaticook

The Beaulne Museum in Coaticook is organizing its 34th annual « Christmas Tea,» which is an important fundraising event. The 2012 Edition is very special because of the centenary celebration of the Château Norton.

« Christmas Tea» has become a genuine tradition treasured by everyone. Every year the halls of the Château Arthur-Osmore-Norton fill with enthralled residents from Coaticook and elsewhere, wanting to live a magical ambiance. The guests are plunged into the Christmas spirit kindled by the beautiful Christmas decorations inside and outside of the Château, and by a hearty welcome that is always appreciated. The evening highlight is a sumptuous buffet, which is served on two floors accompanied by music and ending with prize draws. In short an outstanding and unforgettable celebration.

Here’s the perfect fall-inspired treat from The Old Farmer’s Almanac Everyday Baking cookbook for family and friends who’ll be visiting your home, hostess gifts, book club, work, and school parties this holiday season. Everyday Baking features 118 original recipes by celebrated baker and longtime Almanac collaborator Ken Haedrich. A winner of the Julia Child Cookbook Award, Haedrich may be best known as the author of Pie: 300 Tried-and-True Recipes for Delicious Homemade Pie, which was recently named one of the best baking books of the past 25 years by Cooking Light magazine. Everyday Baking, with its handy reference section and time-tested advice sprinkled throughout, demystifies the art of baking and will inspire home bakers of all skill levels to make delicious breakfast treats, after-school snacks, and impressive desserts. The easy-to-follow recipes in Everyday Baking don’t demand unusual ingredients or abstract cooking techniques, but rather just a desire to make delicious home-baked goods completely from scratch. Everyday Baking is available online at Almanac.com or wherever books and magazines are sold.

Tickets will be selling fast to the annual Christmas Tea, which is really a sumptuous meal, which will be held at the Beaulne Museum on December 2nd.
