The ‘Eye of Memphre’ did the trick
The Memphremagog CLD is happy to announce the results of its l’Oeil de Memphre initiative which was launched on October 26th. In total, the CLD received 54 requests for information from entrepreneurs for business projects. From that number, 44 registration forms and business plans were completed.
“We are very enthusiastic about the response to the invitation we sent out to business people,” mentioned Yves Lanthier, the general director of the CLD. “L’Oeil de Memphre has brought out numerous projects. This demonstrates without a doubt that regional entrepreneurs have ideas! This initiative will surely be the nudge in the right direction that they need to spring into action by assuring them that resources are available to them.”
In total, the projects submitted represent an investment of $9,285,000. Twenty-five requests came from Magog, twelve from other municipalities in the Memphremagog MRC, and seven from outside of the region. Seventeen dossiers have been presented to the panel of experts by the entrepreneurs looking for financing: six new business start-ups; two take-overs; four new product or service development plans; four expansion projects; and one consolidation.
Twelve of these projects are situated in Magog while the other five are in Ayer’s Cliff, Hatley, Mansonville, Stanstead and South Stukely.
