Keep mailboxes safe

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier

With winter here, or almost here, the Transport department would like to remind people about the proper placement of roadside mailboxes so they don’t interfere with road safety and maintenance. The mailbox must not be too close to the side of the road nor should it have a light reflector on it which might confuse drivers. It should be well-attached to its support of wood or light metal, a support that will buckle over upon impact.

The Transport department is not responsible for damage done to mailboxes during snow removal operations when they are not properly installed.
