Lo­cal curlers take gold at US Open

TheQue­bec na­tional wheel­chair curl­ing team, who are as­so­ci­ated with the Ma­gog curl­ing club, won an­other US Open In­ter­na­tional Wheel­chair Bon­spiel, in Utica, New York, ear­lier this month. Coached by Ger­main Trem­blay and led by skip Benoit Lessard, the team in­cludes Jo­hanne Daly (first), Carl Mar­quis (third) and Se­bastien Boisvert (sec­ond), of Stanstead.

The team took first place in the an­nual tour­na­ment, fol­lowed by Korea in sec­ond po­si­tion, Scot­land in third and USA 1 fin­ish­ing fourth. In nine matches, the Que­bec team had seven vic­to­ries and two ties, fin­ish­ing with a to­tal of 16 points.
