Hockey tournament coverage
Some great hockey was played in the Pat Burns Arena, over the weekend, in front of not only full stands of spectators but also in front of NHL scouts, Quebec Major Junior League scouts and scouts from the NCAA (U.S. col- leges). “The running of the tournament was firstclass and it was the strongest competition we’ve ever seen. The calibre of play was outstanding and it ran very smoothly; the tournament was well-received by all of the teams,” commented the Stanstead College Spartans head coach, James Rioux.
“The team played great in the tournament,” said Mr. Rioux. The Spartans were 2 and 1 in the ‘round robin’ and won the second semi-final against Hill Academy, from Toronto, with a score of 4 to 3. The first semi-final saw College Ste-Foy beat Appleby College with the score of 4 to 2.
