The Kingdom Dixie Band will perform at the Goodrich Memorial Library Friday, January 18 at 7 p.m.
Join us at the Goodrich Memorial Library, Main St, Newport, Vermont for an evening of “Dixieland” music. Hear the sounds that created the original American art form called JAZZ. Listen to the standard jazz tunes of “Dark Town Strutter’s Ball”, “Muskrat Ramble”, “Livery Stable Blues” and many more.
The Kingdom Dixie Band plays in the original style with trumpet, clarinet, trombone, and tenor sax with jazz guitar, bass and drums. Members of the band include Richard Lafoe, Howie Artz, Peter Storings, Michael Oquendo, Christopher Nicotera, William Prue, and John Royer. This evening’s program highlights guest singer Cindy Stone performing such favorites as, “I’m Gonna Sit Right down and Write Myself a Letter”, “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans”, and many more.
Start your weekend off on the right note with this evening of toe tapping and grinning as we recall some of the tunes we all grew up with. The Goodrich is handicapped accessible and this performance is admission free.
