Two Spar­tans make NHL Draft list

TwoS­tanstead Col­lege hockey play­ers, Alexan­dre Coulombe and Ni­co­las Beaudin, have made the NHL Cen­tral Scout­ing’s mid-term rank­ings of North Amer­i­can skaters for the 2013 draft. Alexan­dre, a na­tive of Granby, is listed at num­ber 91 among North Amer­i­can skaters while Ni­co­las, from St. Bruno, is ranked at num­ber 209. Most of the play­ers on the list are a year or two older than the two Spar­tans. At 6’4” and 189 pounds, Alex joined the Spar­tans this year from the

The de­fense­man has six goals and fif­teen as­sists to date this sea­son. Ni­co­las is in his sec­ond year in a Spar­tan uni­form and is the team’s lead­ing goal scorer with 21 goals and 16 as­sists in 35 out­ings. At 6’ and 170 pounds, Ni­co­las was named the MVP for­ward at the end of the tour­na­ment played over the week­end. He is also the al­ter­nate cap­tain of the team.

The top 210 skaters and 35 goalies in North Amer­ica are fea­tured in this mid­sea­son rank­ing, as well as play­ers from Europe. Last year’s NHL prospect from Stanstead Col­lege, Mark Jankowski, en­tered the Cen­tral Scout­ing rank­ing at num­ber 74 and was even­tu­ally drafted in the first round by the Cal­gary Flames.
