What does it mean to say that we are all, each of us liv­ing in Canada, treaty peo­ple in a long-term re­la­tion­ship de­fined by treaties as th­ese are de­fined, signed, hon­oured, or not? What are the is­sues at stake? What is par­tic­u­lar about this spe­cific his­toric moment?

Learn about the In­dian Act, the White Pa­per, fed­eral poli­cies, Abo­rig­i­nal treaty and in­di­vid­ual rights, leg­is­la­tion iden­ti­fied by the Idle No More move­ment (Bill c-45, FIPA).
